5 uplifting and joyful black and brown platforms to follow!

Currently, Spring cleaning is in full swing, and so is recentering and finding new inspiration or decluttering old inspiration. I have enjoyed so many beautiful feeds and platforms that have really been good to my soul. I think with everything else going on in the world, we need to be purposeful about what we spend time engaging with, especially as black people. Find an oasis or pieces of joy, wherever it might be, is very important. In the beautiful words of Audre Lorde — ‘Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.’

So, I decided to share some of the platforms that I follow which make self-care and self-preservation that much easier.

2. Black girl in Om with the mission to create “space for women of color to breathe easy. Publication, podcast,+ #1 platform for women of color cultivating wellness + self care! ”  P.s their Podcast is such a treat as well!

3. We heal to – the mission of this platform is exactly that, healing and it is beautiful: “We set out to provide a space for ALL people to come together with like minds and be covered by positive energy. Using yoga, meditation, music, performing arts, conversation, and other various expressions, we make way for our community to release steam and relieve stress.”

4.Iamhamat – the joy filled African goddess sharing the beauty of Africa will add oceans of sunshine (yes that is an expression) to your feed!

5. carol.damia –  A mother and daughter duo – living life in color and smiles in Brazil, showing the beauty in everyday life.
